well the entire 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division let for Iraq on June 25th...all the folks living in the barracks had several opportunities to put whatever they wanted to keep that they couldn't take with them, in military paid storage. it amazes me the things that people will just throw in dumpsters. EVERY dumpster around every set of barracks were full along with a 10 to 20 ft radius around the dumpsters....
one person's trash is another person's treasure.
we found TVs *that work*, endless CDs, DVDs, games, cleaning supplies, and the biggest find was mine....a COMPUTER!!!! only had to spend $5 on a new power supply because the fan had died and now we have a MUCH NICER computer than our old one, which happened to die earlier during the day i found the new computer.
oh yeah and if i had a truck i would have been taking the perfectly fine couches, recliner chairs, kept a few for us and donated the rest to Goodwill or something. whatever didn't get snagged up, got put in a landfill...amazing how much people just toss...
BUT WE HAVE A NEW COMPUTER!!!!!

just a few quick notes before I head out with Miya for a GI appt.
1. Buddha is in the process of a Medical Evaluation Board regarding being discharged from the Army due to a herniated disc he received due to the Army....its all ongoing so we don't really know how that will go. IF he is found unfit for duty and give him 30% disability or more, then he gets an Honorable discharge, medical insurance for all of us for the rest of our lives, keeps his GI Bill so he can go to school, amongst some other benefits.
2. Buddha is also facing a Chapter 14 discharge, which is catagorized for serious misconduct due to basically rubbing a higher up the wrong way. He has only received ONE article 15 (did his two weeks of extra duty for it and dropped in rank from specialist or PFC, which was his punishment) in the ENTIRE 2 1/2 YEARS he has been in the Army...there are soldiers in his company who have gone AWOL numerous times, pissed hot on a drug test numerous times, been busted with illegal drugs in their possession and they have not been put up for any type of discharge at all...yet he gets one article 15 and they're wanting to fuck him up bad...if he gets the chapter 14 discharge instead of the the medical board discharge, that means at the best a general discharge, losing his GI Bill so no college money, no health insurance to pay for the eventual neck surgery he's going to have, and it looks really bad when he tries to get a job in his field for them to see that he was discharged for serious misconduct. right now i truly HATE the army.
3. Miya's health has been going downhill for over a month now...one of the main reasons i haven't updated..finally got a doc that gives a shit. too many health problems to list at the moment.
4. I am offically on lots of psychiatric drugs...upped my Welbutrin from 300mg to 450mg, put me on Klonopin for anxiety, and Trazadone for my insomnia, to help me sleep...guess its just everything going on with Buddha and the Army, now having a very uncertain future ahead of us, all of Miya's health problems and not really having anyone to go see to just cry,yell,scream, talk it out with...don't really have friends here..all my friends are back home.
5. We were rear ended on the major highway here on Father's Day, by two cars, the main one hitting us being a Jeep Cherokee *we drive a ford focus*..did $2100 worth of damage..luckily we have full coverage insurance that includes coverage of a rental car for 30 days...chich that slammed into us wasn't paying attention to the fact that i was slowing down with the rest of traffic and was tapping my brakes for a good 20 count..that typically tells you HEY MOTHERFUCKER THE CARS AHEAD ARE SLOWING DOWN>>SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!!! instead she slammed into us, never got out of her car to check on us or the car that hit her from behind due to the jeep lady never putting on her brakes...and the this 21 yr old jeep driver lies to the state trooper and tells him the reason she hit us was because the woman behind her hit her first..that's bullshit..we felt two impacts...the laws of physics prove her wrong...long story will get into it later.
that's about all for now..got to run..so much for a "quick" update...i'm sure there's something i forgot.

just wanted to let everyone know that Miya and I made it back home safely on tuesday night from our trip to B'ham. it was great being able to see everyone that i was able to fit into a very tight schedule. *we were there for my sister's wedding* as much as i enjoyed my time there, i did miss the Buddha terribly and know that i would have enjoyed my time there a lot more if he had been there. although going back to B'ham helped cure a lot of that homesickness i've had for a little over a year now, it started up another bout of homesickness..this time for my home which is with Buddha..i guess it is true that home truly is where the heart is. its like everytime i would go and visit our mutual friends, i'd catch myself thinking about comments Buddha would have made to some dialog going on or how funny he would have thought one of Piggy's jokes were and i'd almost hear him and then back to reality and it just made me miss him even more. does that make any sense?!?!?
